John Hershey, MS, PhD


John Hershey is the Anheuser-Busch Professor Emeritus of Management Science and professor of operations and information management and health care systems at the Wharton School.

John received his bachelor’s degree from Carnegie-Mellon University, his master’s in operations research from Stanford University, and a doctorate from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. His research focuses on decision processes, operations management and health services.

The Penn Medicine Center for Health Care Innovation engages interdisciplinary teams to reimagine health care delivery for dramatically better value and patient outcomes.

The Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics (LDI) is Penn's center for research, policy analysis, and education in health systems. Its 200 Senior Fellows analyze the medical, economic, and social issues that influence how health care is organized, financed, managed, and delivered across the U.S.
