Michelle Lu

Intern

Michelle Lu is an intern at the Penn Social Media and Health Innovation Lab. Michelle attends Agnes Irwin School, where she is a high honors student in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) track. She is interested in computer science with a specific focus on the intersection of business and medical/health care industries.

Michelle previously worked at tech startups and started her own business, iChina that creates opportunities for American and Chinese students to study abroad.  She was named the Young Entrepreneur of the Year by National Association of Women’s Business Owners, Philadelphia and was a recipient of the Young Enterprising Women Scholarship.

She is fluent in Chinese and knows the programming languages of Python and Java. She has been featured in various news and publications, including NBC10, Main Line Parent and Girls to Watch.

The Penn Medicine Center for Health Care Innovation engages interdisciplinary teams to reimagine health care delivery for dramatically better value and patient outcomes.

The Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics (LDI) is Penn's center for research, policy analysis, and education in health systems. Its 200 Senior Fellows analyze the medical, economic, and social issues that influence how health care is organized, financed, managed, and delivered across the U.S.
